Fully Automatic Laboratory Vane Shear Tester
The shear Vane testing is used to determine the total shear resistance of normally cohesive, un-drained soils (especially soft clays) by fast shearing and is mostly useful for soils with low shear strength.
The fully automatic lab vane was developed and designed according to the latest scientific and research insights and requirements so that undisturbed soil samples (e.g., core cutters) as well as treated samples (e.g., Proctor samples) or artificial mixtures can be tested for practical applications as well as for research purposes.
The test is relatively easy to set up, quick, and provides an economical way of soil shear strength estimation and due to the variable sample container attachment and the height-adjustable vertical cross bar, the shape and size of sample containers which can be used are virtually unrestricted.
Fully automatic controlled laboratory vane tester is including of main device, data acquisition and evaluation software. The data acquisition has a high quality displayer with membrane keys for monitoring of measured values and test procedures and also manual operation of the test.

GEOsys is a multi-functional and modular controlling and data acquisition software in Windows. It allows for the simple programming of complex user defined test sequences via structured Windows instructions on a graphic user interface.
The software is designed to support a modular structure for the test environment so as to enable a flexible configuration and thus fulfil the specific requirements of the company.
The test parameters can be given simply in this stage. Many parameters can be defined for software to follow it for the automatic test e.g., :
- Max rotation angle
- The speed of rotation and at which shear resistance, compared to the maximum shear resistance, the shear stage should be ended.
- Second shear test(if required)
- Fast shearing phase
- Speed for fast shearing
- max rotation angle for second test
- Speed of rotation for second test
