Water Degassing Apparatus
This compact unit provides de-aired water with an extremely low level of gas content without the use of heat as de-aired water is required for many types of laboratory soil tests e.g. triaxial tests and permeability tests and further geotechnical examinations. It guarantees an unhindered flow of the inspection medium (water) by the capillary system of the soil specimen.
While the water is sprayed through an atomizer nozzle into a water plexiglass cylinder (tank), air and other gaseous components will be removed by a vacuum. The apparatus includes of Vacuum pump and does not need to order it separately. After about 20 to 30 minutes of operation the level of Dissolved Oxygen reduces to a sufficient level for the test.
The apparatus is designed for wall mounting, so that a hydraulic gradient can be produced to the receiving device (test cells, water tank) and an additional pumping system is not required.
